Today was such a beautiful day. I just love when it's been cold and wintery for what seems like forever and then all the sudden Spring kicks in and gives you all these magnificent, sunny days. The birds sing more, the air is filled with the sweetness of the Spring blossoms.. It's all so dreamy. I took advantage of the warm day and Holly and I took some photos out in the back yard.

My Spur of the Moment Decision
Talk about a spur of the moment decision!
In my last blog I was telling you about my brothers computer not wanting to read my SD card.. Well.. I got rather fed up with it and so I went out and bought a laptop! And so here is my first blog entry using it. I hope the freedom that comes with having my own laptop will be worth it! I wish I could spend some more time tonight playing around with it but I am just too exhausted from today. I did lots of walking today which probably wasn't the best of ideas because I can feel a cold coming on. I havent been sick for about 17 months!
So off to bed I go and we can continue this later.
Night all.

A Gift for Adrian for Fathers Day
I haven't blogged for a few days now due to the computer not wanting to let me take my photos off of my SD card. Which is a real shame because I have so many photos to share. Now all I can do is tell you what I've been up to.
My last headband inspired me to back more, so far I've crocheted up 2 and now I'm just adding the finishing touches..
Then today I realized that Fathers Day was this weekend and so I had to have a brainstorm on what Holly and I could do. I decided on Holly's hands imprinted into clay I remembered I had sitting in a container.. Unfortunately the clay had become very dry over time and I didn't have the time or the patience to add water and knead it through. The clay is far too messy and stains my hands whenever I use it and I decided that wasn't a good idea to use on Holly's hands anyway. Then I remember a brilliant thing called 'salt dough!' I quickly looked up a recipe and whipped up a batch in no time. I divided the batch into 5 pieces and then added a tiny amount of oil paint in each primary colour to each ball. I then rubbed them and kneaded the colour into the balls and then flattened them out onto a baking tray. Once Holly was ready I brought the tray to her to imprint her little hands into the doughs and they just look so cute! I then added a hole at each end of the moulds for tieing up later. I'm planning to make it into a wall hanging. I might even add a crystal to the end to make it into a suncatcher. I am just waiting for the moulds to dry now so I can paint a letter from her name onto the back of each handprint.
I can't wait to finish it, I'm really excited about this! Hopefully I'll get this computer sorted out soon. I think it's time to buy myself a laptop and stop relying on my brother's old and slow computer!
